Dr. Evangelos Karapanos is Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication and Internet Studies where he also heads the Persuasive Technologies Lab (http://persuasive.cut.ac.cy).
Dr. Karapanos holds a PhD in Human-Computer Interaction from Eindhoven University of Technology, a MSc in Human-Computer Interaction from University College London, and a BSc in Physics with a specialization in microelectronics from the University of Patras.
His expertise is in experience-centred design of interaction with technology. His work is regularly published at top-tier conferences and journals in Human-Computer Interaction and has received more than 2600 citations in the literature (h-index=25, i10-index=42, source: Google Scholar) and a number of awards, including a best paper and a best poster award at Persuasive Technology 2017, an honorable mention for best paper at Ubicomp 2015, the tech challenge for atrocity prevention 2013 Award, and the cum laude distinction for his PhD thesis.
He has acted as a general chair for Persuasive 2019 and as a program co-chair for Persuasive 2018.
